COLONEL DONALD “DOC” BALLARD
Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient
Donald “Doc” Ballard served as a Navy corpsman with the 3/4 3rd Marine Division in Vietnam, earning a reputation for steady leadership under fire and an uncompromising commitment to wounded Marines. In May 1968, he threw himself on an enemy grenade to protect four Marines in his care; when the grenade failed to detonate, he immediately hurled it away and went straight back to treating casualties while still under fire. In 1970 he was awarded the Medal of Honor by President Nixon for his extraordinary act of valor. After Vietnam, Doc continued his service in the Kansas Army National Guard, rising to the rank of colonel and holding senior medical leadership positions. Today, he remains actively engaged in organizations that support veterans and their families, carrying forward a lifelong mission to care for those who bear both the visible and invisible wounds of war.
Our mission at Corpsmen Up is to honor the men and women who ran toward danger—and to keep caring for them long after the shooting stopped. Robert met Medal of Honor recipient Colonel Donald “Doc” Ballard in 2024. Both had served in military medical roles and had seen, up close, how many veterans live with daily pain and few satisfying options beyond pills, injections, or products they don’t fully trust. From that shared frustration and brotherhood, they created Corpsmen Up—a line of all‑natural, science‑driven topical balms offered at Doc’s appearances, veteran‑focused events, and through healthcare professionals. Corpsmen Up products are manufactured in a licensed facility that already supplies formulations to healthcare clinics, DOs, physicians, and doctors of chiropractic. Quality systems and regulatory expectations guide every batch. Early in development, Doc and Robert agreed on one non‑negotiable: addictions and questionable ingredients would not be part of this story. Any CBD, THC, or drug‑like components were removed, and a new, clean, non‑addictive approach to topical relief was built from the ground up. Right now the line is in a deliberate evaluation phase. Instead of guessing what works from behind a desk, we are refining formulas based on real‑world feedback. We are inviting veterans, civilians, and healthcare providers who deal with muscular, joint, and localized pain to test the products and tell us exactly what they experience. During this period, participants can receive products at a greatly reduced cost—often with free samples—because their feedback is part of the development process. Reports so far have been consistently encouraging: this is not an overnight cure or miracle fix, but many users are experiencing meaningful relief, easier movement, and better day‑to‑day comfort. Doc Ballard, Robert, and the staff all use the products themselves and stand behind them because they feel the difference personally. The name “Corpsmen Up” is more than branding; it’s a battlefield promise. “Corpsmen up!” is the urgent call Marines shout when a brother or sister is wounded, a call answered for generations by Navy corpsmen and Army medics who move toward gunfire to save a life. Our products carry that spirit into peacetime. Every formula is developed with veterans in mind, and all profits are directed to support disabled veterans. When you join our evaluation program or place an order, you’re not just trying a new balm—you’re helping build better options for those who served and turning everyday relief into an act of gratitude.
