COLONEL DONALD “DOC” BALLARD
Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient
Donald “Doc” Ballard served as a Navy corpsman with the 4th Marine Division in Vietnam, earning a reputation for steady leadership under fire and an uncompromising commitment to wounded Marines. In May 1968, he threw himself onto an enemy grenade to protect four Marines in his care; when the grenade failed to detonate, he immediately hurled it away and went straight back to treating casualties while still under fire. He was awarded the Medal of Honor in 1970 for this extraordinary act of valor. After Vietnam, Doc continued his service in the Kansas Army National Guard, rising to the rank of colonel and holding senior medical leadership positions. Today, he remains actively engaged in organizations that support veterans and their families, carrying forward a lifelong mission to care for those who bear both the visible and invisible wounds of war.
Robert met Doc Ballard in 2024, and the two quickly formed a bond as brothers in arms, united by a shared passion for caring for those who served. Recognizing how many veterans and families live with chronic pain and limited, often unsatisfying options, they created Corpsmen Up as a dedicated product line offered at Doc’s appearances and veteran‑focused events. Corpsmen Up brings together Doc’s decades of advocacy for wounded warriors with Robert’s science‑driven, all‑natural formulations. Every product is developed with veterans in mind—and all profits are directed to support disabled veterans, turning each purchase into a tangible act of gratitude and remembrance. The name Corpsmen Up honors the proud tradition of Navy corpsmen and Army medics who run toward danger when others must take cover. “Corpsmen up!” is the urgent call Marines shout when a brother or sister is wounded—a call that has been answered for generations by courageous military medical personnel.
